Routes between the two countries would transit Iran.

Both Turkmen Demiryollary (Turkmenistan Railway) and Bahrain’s Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications signed agreements to develop the rail connectivity area. Other topical areas of cooperation between the two countries in bilateral economics, including the financial and banking sector, as well as building up bilateral partnerships in communication, transport and logistics, cultural and humanitarian spheres were also discussed.

The documents were signed following negotiations between King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov during his official visit to the capital of Bahrain, Manama. MoU were also signed in general, technical, and higher education agreements.
